"UK's newest label; Cone Records, drops it's first 12" inch and
the choice
cut on this one is the Little Fella mix of Down To The Nightclub.
A
perfect intro track as is starts off minimal and works its way up with
tough beats and a hooky guitar loop. The acidic layer the comes in after
the first breakdown makes it's very reminiscent of older Chemical Beats,
and it's much appreciated as so much of the music on the market at the
moment seems carbon copied. Don't be afraid to try something different,
like this solid new label." - Rinse

"I think it's great. Both
sides work for me. Nice and solid that Look Closely side with some
good sounds.
Down To The Nightclub is that little bit more funky. The bass is
fat and the old skool riff is reminiscent of Orbital or something like that.
Wicked stuff. I'll definitely be supporting this one on my radio show on Ministry
of Sound." DJ Flix (10 Kilo / MoS radio)

"Nice tunes! Played the
A side on Friday night...nice production,groove and a
bit of old school flavour." Kev Wright (Sublime, Addictive)
"Down to the Nightclub: Big sound, cool vocal - some quite techie bits lobbed into the pan to create quite an interesting tune. Motors along with a heavy riff-esque bassline. Watch out for some mad bleeps and shit working their way into the latter stages of the track.
Look Closely: This is the one! Guaranteed to get your dancefloor moving, a perfect incarnation of chunky breaks and an absoloute monster of a track. The long, sweeping intro allows for a smooth and subtle mix before an almighty drop bitchslaps you between the ears. The rather 'rude' bassline chugs along for a good while, not letting up until the main breakdown - which kicks back in like a motherfucker. Turn this one up loud, its music for big systems." - Hatch (Fractured Ankle, Moneyshot)
"I received the 12 thru
yesterday and gave it a listen last
night.....fuckin' a! what a corker of a couple of tunes you have there!! seriously
into the

nightclub
is a good track also and i'm gonna give that some hefty rotation also. really

will be sticking em in the chart next week at numero uno...i like em that

"Top notch digital funk, breaks to shake the floor. keep an eye on this label!" - Mike Hogan (DJ Hogey Bare)
"This is a double A-side from former child prodigy Rex Preston, who made the transition from mandolin to making beats following a Leftism listening session. Look Closely is a crisp, slightly edgy breaks affair. The drops are atmospheric and the industrial feel of the track reminds of the late 90s Bristol sound that emanated from the likes of Breakbeat Culture, Tech Itch and Cup of Tea Records. Down to the Nightclub, however, is an entirely different kettle of fish. Much more aesthetically pleasing, the initial hook forces you to be interested in what is to come. The breaks kick in with refreshing authority, and you can't help but nod your head as the track progresses into a gorgeous little number. The track fills the room with expectation, and whilst not being highly innovative, it is a clear example of everything that is good in the breaks scene today. The coastal feel twists itself and really evolves. It has an almost acid house vibe about it, contrasted with a nu skool approach. Totally harmless and inoffensive, Beat-root obviously has his head screwed on, and with his musical background, hopefully a little more innovation will be shown in forthcoming releases, as the potential to take this music a step beyond where it is now is evident." - Muzik.com
"Many thanks for the promo.
I will be caning the arse out of this one!

Coner-003L - tsunchoo 'all ribs & prick' 12" vinyl
Cat. Coner-003L
DJ Magazine - October

absorb magazine
what if level 42 had recorded a version of robert hood's 'nighttime world'
series? it would probably sound like tsunchoo's 'hard & cheap' Ð this
is whitey electropop at its most funky. nice and mellow, it comes off as a
post-elektroklash soundtrack to leisure suit larry (if you remember?). and
that must be a merit in a way!
'all ribs & prick' is big dancefloor-electro, like chemical brothers on a budget. what makes this 12" stand out is the feltpeople remix of 'all ribs & prick', nicing up the dance with old-skool raga vibes. one for the warehouse heads.

12"
This twisted slab of electro breakbeat trickery pushes technology forward
while still retaining a raw, juicy & funky sound. The FELTPEOPLE remix
mangles the samples and adds some dope ragga vocals. The two other cuts range
from old school electro to chunky breaks. - Groovedis.com (chicago U.S.A)
Juice Magazine (Brighton) August, 2003
The Brighton Source, August 2003

"All ribs & prick is a gritty electro affair, Hard & Cheap is sleazy late night material, the all ribs remix is an old school style reworking of all ribs & prick ..an interesting twisting release with excellent production throughout ..a classic"
"Hard and Cheap is a dirty, laid back electro number. The track has a nice, dark, twisted feel to it, and never attempts to become something it isn't, whilst constantly morphing and progressing itself via an ugly, flowing bassline that sits nicely over the curious beats and sounds.
All Ribs and Prick is more of the same, but with a more aggressive, much more appealing use of bass. The sound is very mechanical and at times can feel a little constricted. The use of a foreign student's chat-up answer phone message is really good though, and adds a nice, awkward feel to the track, really bringing out the elements nicely." - Muzik.com
"your eyes roll into the back of your skull, as sinisterly warped electro-funk feeds off your fazing consciousness. Your vision plunges forward, focus oscillating, orbs bulging and your head catches up with your body. Bang. You never moved." - The Source (Brighton)
