Featuring guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm, drum master, tutor and session musician Martin Davies, Sax supremo Geoff Atherton and much acclaimed vocal coach Angharad Saunders; these master classes will offer expert tuition and a chance to hone your skills..

Write to Record workshops for aspiring songwriters and musicians between the ages of 13 and 19 take place at Square Chapel every Monday evening. We are happy to announce our continuing support of these sessions and the local youth music scene with the donation of free studio time to Halifax Square Chapel.

Write to Record continues our long association with Square Chapel, which also includes last year's successful Opportunity Rocks, a school of rock style project for young people with mild learning difficulties, and a part of "Artreach", a community outreach programme. The project spawned two bands, The Bash and Eccentrics on Holiday. Both bands performed to the public on numerous occasions and also visited Calder Recordings to cut high-quality CDs. Finally, Calder Recordings are sponsoring this year's Halifax Festival. The Halifax Festival (formerly known as the July Project) runs from 14th - 22nd August. As part of the festival, a Battle of the Bands competition will be held at The Piece Hall on Thursday 19th August, with the winning band to receive a days free recording with us.

Steve has worked all over Britain, France, Canada and US in Pro Studios and we're delighted to welcome him to our team! He worked with The Cure for 6 months on their biggest selling album ‘Wish’ – featuring the single ‘Friday I’m In Love’

Hebden Bridge Junior Brass Band have begun recording their new album with us.

Making full use of our spacious live rooms one & two, the band have begun a series of recordings with us. The recordings will form their album which will no doubt sell like hot cakes! 33 youngsters took part in the first session, which sounded amazing!

Hebden Bridge Junior Band was established 36 years ago by Brian Haydn Robinson who retired from the role of Musical Director after more than 30 years in 2003.  The band provides musical education and opportunities to perform for local young people aged between 7 and 19 years of age.
