DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT
Exit State's new album 'Black Veins', recorded and produced with us has received a glowing review in the respected 'Powerplay' magazine.
"..a sterling job on production" and an 8/10 score was just part fo the review which appeared in the October edition of Powerplay magazine. Produced by Steve Fenton, the album features none other than acclaimed guitarist Gizz Butt who recorded a blistering solo on one of the tracks.
The band literrally camped out at the studio for a week for the recording of this album and made full use of the facilities to produce what has been described as "one of the albums of the year".
Key to the production process was the need to achieve a large and open drum sound whilst maintaining the punch and clarity required by the rock/metal genre. Use of our large live room and total analogue signal paths during mixdown was crucial in achieving this.
Mastering of the album was also taken care of at Calder and as a result the dynamics and clarity created in the recording process were preserved whilst achieving the commercial loudness requirements. |

ROWETTA WORKING IN THE STUDIO WITH THE KINO CLUB
The incredible Rowetta was in the studio recently working on a new single with production duo ' The Kino Club'.
The female singer needs no introduction, a member of the Happy Mondays for 10 years, singing on all their hits, she toured the world and gave the tracks soul! Now performing as a solo artist and with Peter Hook (New Order/ Joy Division) & his band, The Light.
She was 'the voice' on the renowned 1989 track “Reach Out”, which has been sampled by many, including Black Eyed Peas (Boom Boom Pow), Cheryl Cole at the Brits on Fight For This Love, Steve Angello & Robin S (Show Me Love) , Todd Terry’s Lime Life (Baby Can You Reach) and the infamous “BE”. She played herself in the Michael Winterbottom film 24 Hour Party People
Working on a new single with the Kino Club entitled 'So Sweet' which will be released in September along with remixes, Rowetta spent the day recording vocals with Steve Fenton and Paul Wilkinson. She described the studio as 'fabulous' and recorded the most incredible vocals with ease!
A great day was had by all! |
