Welcome to Calder Recordings, now in it's 8th year we cater for all recording needs from
first demos to major album or single releases. With a
combination of superb equipment, experienced staff and a
great vibe, you will achieve recordings of the highest
quality.
The recording studio, based in West Yorkshire, is a purpose built complex offering both
digital or analogue recording. We've recently expanded our facilities to include a brand new live space, control room and more!
Artists come to Calder Recordings knowing that they will
get the best results whilst not breaking their budget. All
our clients feel comfortable and relaxed in our idyllic
countryside location, a setting that encourages great
creativity.
We're situated in the
picturesque Calder Valley, on the slopes of the Pennines
close to Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire. Within easy reach of
the M62 we are easily accessible.

Live Rooms
The studio has 3 spacious live rooms, live room one is 500 square foot and has a vaulted ceiling and natural daylight offering superb and spacious acoustics. Live room two is 280 square foot, acoustically treated and also consists of a drum / cab acoustic riser. Live room three is a spacious and luxurious vocal and amp isolation room!
Control Rooms
Our main control room is air conditioned and fully equipped with a large format Toft Audio analogue console complete with it's fantastically musical 80B series 'British' EQ on each channel.
We have the very latest Pro Tools HD3 System packed with plugins including SSL, TL Space and more, racks of
outboard and quality monitoring.
The room has been acoustically designed with guidance from Dr Bruno Fazenda (Salford University Acoustic Research). This has resulted in a neutral and non-fatiguing working environment, your mixes will transpose well anywhere!
We have a wide selection of quality microphones including
Neumann, Calrec, Rode, Sennheiser & AKG along with a few vintage classics!
We use the very best Microphone pre-amps (maintained in tip top condition by Garreth Connor of GJC Designs) to capture the 'complete' sound in the analogue domain. We also have some stunning pieces of high end outboard.
Mastering
We have a separate Mastering Suite This room is fully
networked to the main control room.
Experienced Staff
One thing that really matters in a recording is the experience and skill of the staff involved. Our engineers and producers have over 40 years of combined experience in the recording industry and have many album and single credits to their names! If you're planning a recording, you're in very good hands with us!

Added to that, we have real coffee and other refreshments, ample free parking, chill out area, free WIFI, Playstation, DVDs, plenty of countryside to admire and more! Several quality restaurants, inns and B&B’s serve the
